It's been a while since I've posted anything personal. I think that this is partially due to the fact that I haven't been spending so much time online while home, and partially because I've started a paper journal (it's a Moleskine and a joy to use) for a specific type of journaling, and partially due to the fact that I've been spending a lot of free time cleaning my house.
That's right gang, I'm cleaning.
So far, I've mopped the floors in the dining room & living room, thrown out most of the old magazines that were taking over, vacuumed the throw rugs, vacuumed the cobwebs, cleaned the baseboards, scrubbed the kitchen, scrubbed the bathroom (yes, Ebola has left the building), and cleaned up the master bedroom. Next I shall either begin on the back bedroom (also known as the Black Hole of Calcutta), or the laundry room & garage. To date, I've thrown out about 6-8 bags of trash.
This activity has accrued greater results than merely a tidy house. There has been a meditative aspect where I've felt as if I've been cleaning and scrubbing my head and my heart; purging them of useless thoughts and feelings, and filling them with scented candles and sunlight.
I may still be focussed inwardly, but this time it's for a positive reason.
