I've been reading and (more importantly) thinking about various Zen concepts as of late.
One thought has bee that to "take ownership of one's emotions" includes ALL emotions at ALL times.

So for instance, if I feel anxious or stressed at work I own that just as much as I own the unuseful learned behavior of plucking at my eyebrows in response.

Addressing the head of the tiger is more useful than merely chasing it's tail.
