What means FDicts?
FDicts is short for Free DICTionarieS. FDicts should be pronounced like "F"
"Dicts". The "F" means that all our dictionaries are Free. Many people
complained that it is hard to remember fdicts well it is easier to remember
FDicts when you know that it means Free DICTionarieS. It is difficult to
find short name for Free dictionaries project (when all fdp are taken :-)).
So we have decided to make FDicts.com our home.
We would appreciate you to tell us what address should we use instead of
FDicts (if you think there is better address for our project). FDicts seems
simple enough for people who know our project. Yet we feel that our address
should be much easier to remember than FDicts.
If you have an idea what would be better address for free dictionaries
project please tell us .
All contributions (added or validated translations) will be later released
under same licence as the dictionary into which these translations are
Our project uses translations from many dictionaries. Many dictionaries use
many different licenses. All dictionaries that our project uses are "free"
in certain way (no commercial dictionaries are being used or created). There
are usually some special conditions which make something not possible (for
example distribution of modified dictionary etc.)
Here is the list of used dictionaries or dictionary projects divided into
groups by the license they are under:
GNU GPL or GNU GPL2
English-Korean lexicon by Francis Bond
Collection of free Czech dictionaries

Free dictionaries project licence
The purpose of this project is to open free dictionaries to users on the
net. The dictionaries are not property of Free dictionaries project (they
are property of their authors). When using the dictionaries keep in mind
that the dictionaries are only as good as their authors make them. We cannot
guarantee that all the translations are correct. If you need to be
absolutely sure that you get precise translations please use commercial
dictionaries instead. Our goal is to provide free dictionaires to people who
need them and do not want to buy expensive commercial dictionaries if they
only need to translate few words. Keep in mind. The translations you find in
the dictionaries may be incorrect. Everyone is welcome to use all ideas and
methods that we use in our project. If you need to get the actual
dictionaries and do something with them please contact their authors.
